Governing Body Funding
The Sports Council for Wales encourages all Governing Bodies within Wales to develop effective strategic plans for their sport.
The Sports Council for Wales provides a wide range of support to help Governing Bodies to :
- achieve financial stability;
- maintain and increase membership;
- improve the performances of individuals and teams representing Wales.
This is done by providing :
- professional advice and financial support;
- specialist support services in sports science, sports medicine, strength and conditioning, coaching, administration and the development of elite competitors.
The management of staff is a key focus for Governing Bodies as a high percentage of Sports Council for Wales funding is provided for the employment of staff.
