Golfers will be able to play for free in Wales as part of Golf Awareness Week – being launched under the slogan ‘Pick it up for the Ryder Cup.’

More than £42,000 has been invested in community sport and physical activity in the Vale of Glamorgan during the last year thanks to a special grants scheme.

An ambitious new advertising campaign that will help families eat well, move more and live longer will hit television screens, billboards, public transport and newspapers in March 2010.

5x60 Officer, Catrin Jones, has been recognised by the Sports Council for Wales for her efforts to get young people fit and active.
